Ricky Gervais pays sad tribute to The Office co-star 'Big Keith' following shock death aged 50

Ricky Gervais has paid tribute to The Office co-star Ewen MacIntosh after it was confirmed he has died aged 50. The actor and comedian is probably best known for having appeared in Ricky's hit sitcom The Office as Keith from its first series in 2001.
Also known as 'Big Keith', fans of the show will know MacIntosh for his character, an accountant with a passion for Scotch eggs and despite the branch of a large paper company Wernham Hogg going through changes, Keith remained in his post until the series came to an end in 2003.
JustRight Management confirmed MacIntosh's death in a statement shared on social media on Wednesday (February 21) which said: "With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh

"His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home." They added: "There will be a private cremation for family & close friends soon & a celebratory memorial later in the year.”
The Office star and creator Ricky has already shared a tribute on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: "Extremely sad news. The very funny and very lovely Ewen Macintosh, known to many as 'Big Keith' from The Office, has passed away. An absolute original. RIP."
As well as The Office, MacIntosh also partnered back up with Gervais when he starred in the final series of After Life as 'Buffet Man' - a guy who had been barred from an all-you-can-eat restaurant.
