Apple TV+ has greenlit the new science fiction series Neuromancer, a 10-episode drama based on William Gibson’s debut novel of the same name.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Yvonne Strahovski has been tapped for the lead role in the upcoming Peacock series “Teacup.” Described as a horror thriller, “Teacup” hails from writer Ian McCulloch with James Wan and Atomic Monster attached to executive produce. Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Strahovski will star as Maggie Chenoweth. Strahovski has received two Emmy Award nominations for her work on Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on which she has starred as Serena Joy Waterford since the show began.

Slow Horses actress Catherine McCormack is to star alongside Colin Firth in Sky and Peacock‘s retelling of the 1988 terror attack on Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

EXCLUSIVE: James Badge Dale is set for a major recurring role in Apple TV+limited series The Savant, starring and executive produced by Jessica Chastain. Woodard joins previously announced series lead Jason Clarke in the show, as well as cast members Haley Bennett, Dominic Cooper, Simone Kessell, Tait Blum, and “Reservation Dogs” alum Dallas Goldtooth.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Amazon Prime Video has ordered a drama series based on the comic book “El Gato Negro” by Richard Dominguez, Variety has learned. The series, currently titled “El Gato,” will be shot in both English and Spanish. Diego Boneta is attached to star, with Eric Carrasco adapting the comic book for the screen.

Perabo joins previously announced series lead Daniel Dae Kim in the series along with cast members Reina Hardesty, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, and Nayoon Kim.

We go back to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in ITV1’s latest drama. Downton Abbey actress Joanne Froggatt stars as Dr Abbey Henderson, a front-line hospital consultant who fights to save her patients as the mystery virus becomes an ever-growing threat. Breathtaking is based on a book by journalist-turned-medic Rachel Clarke and has been adapted for the screen by doctor-turned-screenwriter Jed Mercurio.

Anna Marie de la Fuente Argentine director Luján Loioco (“About a Woman,” “The Girl with Yellow Heels”) is prepping her third feature film, “Queen of the Woods” (“Reina del bosque”), starring Chile’s venerable Alfredo Castro, seen most recently in Pablo Larrain’s Oscar-nominated “El Conde,” and rising Argentine actress Delfina Chaves (“Máxima,” “Ringo”). The story takes place in a cabin set against the snow-covered Patagonian mountains and is described as a “neo-horror feminine film that explores the failed relationship between a pregnant woman and her dying father.” Through the gripping mechanisms of thriller and neo-horror, the film delves deep into the theme of grief while posing unsettling reflections on the complexities of motherhood.

EXCLUSIVE: The Last Frontier continues to round out its main cast, adding Tait Blum (Home Team) as a series regular alongside Jason Clarke in Apple TV+’s drama series from Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call). The series received a 10-episode series order in February 2023.

EXCLUSIVE: Brittany Snow has been tapped as the co-lead opposite Malin Åkerman in Starz‘s upcoming thriller drama series The Hunting Wives, produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter NBC has ordered a drama pilot from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs. The project is titled “Grosse Pointe Garden Society.” The official logline reads, “Four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.” Bans and Krebs serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot. Bans will executive produce under her Minnesota Logging Company banner along with Casey Kyber.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Simu Liu is set to star in what is described as an espionage techno-thriller that has been ordered straight to series at Peacock. The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena. The untitled series hails from Thomas Brandon (“Legacies”) with James Wan attached as an executive producer.
