‘Rebel Moon 2’ Trailer: Zack Snyder’s Two-Part Netflix Epic Ends With ‘The Scargiver’ Finale

It may be winter but it doesn’t have to stop you from exploring the stunning countryside we have right on our doorstep. Landscapes can be transformed thanks to frosts and low lying mists, while the crisp, cool air can leave you feeling invigorated.

OK, so we just detailed Zack Snyder talking about pitching Lucasfilm an R-rated “Star Wars” space opera movie. They eventually turned it down, and he turned that idea into “Rebel Moon,” which is on Netflix now, with a sequel, “Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver,” arriving on the streaming service in April.

Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” is on Netflix now, and obviously, it’s a divisive film with a 22% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Our review wasn’t pretty blunt about it, too, calling it “lifeless and superficial,” but it’s still fascinating that Netflix went all in on it, and a sequel, “Rebel Moon: The Scargiver,” is coming in April 2024 (read our review here; check out our 2024 blockbuster preview here).

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Zack Snyder is currently leading the Netflix charts with his space opera “Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire,” and he recently got a huge sign of support from none other than Christopher Nolan. In a profile published by The Atlantic, Nolan said Snyder’s influence on cinema is so dominant that part of his touch can be felt in any “superhero science-fiction film coming out these days.” Nolan served as a producer on Snyder’s “Man of Steel” (2013), which was based on a story Nolan cracked with his “Dark Knight” trilogy co-writer David S. Goyer.

It’s Christmas day and Zack Snyder and Netflix have decided to give you a treat: the new teaser for his next upcoming film, “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” the follow up to his ‘Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire.” It’s a generous move given that “A Child Of Fire, the first installment in his space opera was hit with scathing reviews when it debuted earlier this month (read our review), but one supposes, Snyder is no grinch, doesn’t mind and wants to keep the drum beating for his new series (it’s on our list of the 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2024, so let’s hope the ‘Scargiver’ is much better.
