A glitch in Amazon’s reporting couldn’t stop Reacher from hitting the top of the Nielsen streaming charts.
The series put up another 1.2B viewing minutes during the December 18-24 interval, despite the fact that the new episode released on Dec. 20 is not counted in this reporting. Nielsen says the glitch with Prime Video‘s audio asset capture meant that reporting for any title added to the service between December 20 and January 16 is delayed.
This issue likely will impact the next several Nielsen streaming reports, since the company predicts the reporting won’t be up to date until at least February 1.
Young Sheldon took the No. 1 spot during this interval with 1.4B viewing minutes, though it’s difficult to tell whether that would have been the case if viewing for Episode 4 of Reacher Season 2 had been included in its tally.

While it didn’t make it onto the overall chart, Percy Jackson & the Olympians put up some impressive viewership on Disney+ in its premiere week. The first two episodes managed 572M viewing minutes, putting it at No. 4 among streaming originals, which is particularly impressive given that the episodes totaled 80 available minutes, whereas the three titles above it boasts 400+.
Nielsen says about 33% of its viewership came from the 18-34 demo. As Deadline previously reported, the premiere episodes of Percy Jackson have surpassed 26M views on Disney+ since they were released, with the first five episodes all tallying more than 10M views in their first week. It’s safe to say that Percy Jackson likely will stick around the Nielsen charts.

Percy Jackson And The Olympians has shared the reason behind a drastic character change from the novels to the series.Aryan Simhadri, who plays the character Grover Underwood in the Disney+ adaptation, has opened up about a key difference in the character’s presentation.Grover, a close friend of Percy’s, is a satyr, a Greek mythological creature that is half goat, half human. In the novel series by Rick Riordan, Grover’s primary diet consisted of furniture, aluminium and tin cans. However, according to The Direct, Simhadri has explained why this detail had to be altered for the series, which guest stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lance Reddick and Toby Stephens, among others.“Because you know, a lot of younger kids are going to be watching the show, and we don’t really want any eight-year-olds eating tin cans,” he explained.“So, yeah, we’ve maybe went a little light on eating sharp metal objects.”It is also mentioned several times in the novel series that Grover likes cheese enchiladas, so this trait was utilised in the adaptation.“Now [the diet’s] mostly consisting of enchiladas and banana bread, I think,” the actor explained. However, it seems the prop team did initially try to represent the character’s tin can preference, as Simhadri shared: “The props team came up with like a fondant tin can.
