Bruce Springsteen reportedly working on film of the making of ‘Nebraska’

Today, it’s easy to put Martin Scorsese up there as one of the greatest American film directors of all time. However, according to one of his longest collaborators, that feeling is relatively new, as studios didn’t respect him as a living legend until the last decade or so.

Last week, Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, the co-writer of Coen’s upcoming “Drive-Away Dolls” film, led a Master Class in conversation with critic Kaleem Aftab for the audience at the Tromos International Film Festival in Norway. And according to the Norwegian site Montages, near the end of the conversation,  Coen revealed that he and Joel have written a new script together (something that Coen already said a week ago).

The film is directed by Momose Yoshiyuki, who has credits on Ponoc’s 2017 title “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” and others on Ghibli’s “Spirited Away,” “Princess Mononoke” and “Porco Rosso.” Adapted from a novel by A.F. Harold, with a screenplay by Nishimura, the film “portrays the depths of humanity and creativity through the eyes of young Amanda and her imaginary companion, Rudger.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Netflix has scrapped the release of “The Mothership,” a science-fiction film starring Halle Berry. The movie finished filming in 2021, but it couldn’t be completed after multiple delays in post-production, Variety has confirmed. “The Mothership” is the latest Hollywood movie to disappear even though filming had wrapped.

But its complexity is also its allure, and there’s so much going on beneath its many surfaces that it could conceivably become a bona fide cult hit. A Sundance launch is a mixed blessing when it comes to this, so it’s hard to say right now whether It’s What’s Inside has the crossover immediacy of a Blair Witch Project or the long-haul slow-burn of a Donnie Darko. Whichever way it turns out, this is first-class genre filmmaking and an impressive calling card for everyone involved.
