Rafael admits he never got on with former Manchester United teammate Carlos Tevez.
The ex-United defender, 33, made 170 appearances for the club in all competitions between 2008 and 2015 and is still plying his trade professionally with Botafogo in his Brazilian homeland. He rubbed shoulders with Tevez in the two seasons the latter spent at Old Trafford before controversially signing for Manchester City in 2009.
Rafael and Tevez infamously clashed during a Manchester derby the following season in 2010 when Tevez was on the blue half and the two players had to be separated by referee Chris Foy when tempers flared. It will come as no surprise, then, that Rafael did not take too warmly to the Argentinian when they were teammates.

Rafael told SporTV via Sport Witness: "I'm not a fan of Tevez, not as a player. I've already had a fight with him.
"The game against City, he'd left United. I've never been a fan of his because Tevez liked to rubbish new players."
Rafael initially made his way as a young player with Fluminense before signing for United alongside twin brother, Fabio, in 2008 and remained with the Premier League outfit for seven years. Rafael went on to play for Olympique Lyon and Basaksehir before returning to Brazil with Botafogo in 2021.
The 33-year-old continued: "I'm not ashamed to say that I don't like him [Tevez]...
"He was always very respectful, but picked on the youngsters there, so I never liked him. The fight happened, I hit him and the referee gave a foul. I did that to get him off, because he pushed me and it started."
