It's been just over four years since Rae Sremmurd shared SR3MM, the third collaborative album from sibling rappers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. The aptly-titled fourth full-length SREMM4LIFE is on the way according to the group's go-to producer and label head Mike WiLL Made-It, with Wednesday seeing the release of its first official single "Denial." Swae Lee's voice, rich with a doe-eyed melodicism that sweetens even his most scandalous lyrics, remains Rae Sremmurd's secret sauce, and it's lavished all over "Denial." That works to the syrupy love song's benefit, considering that the production taps the kind of melancholic guitar loop that's enduringly – some would say maddingly – popular in modern rap.
His presence helps elevate the song above the pack, and even Slim Jxmmi is content to mostly follow his brother's lead.
