R Kelly’s alleged child sex tape victim set to testify at his latest trial as ‘Jane’

Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard will be released September 19 on Discovery+.Titled Johnny vs Amber: The US Trial, the documentary features interviews with Depp’s lawyers, legal experts and journalists, along with behind-the-scenes footage amid the trial which was held between April and June this year.The first episode will investigate Depp’s side of events, covering his “abusive childhood and drug dependencies” and presenting “an alternative version of events that show Johnny to be a victim of domestic abuse himself”.The second episode details Heard’s account, including “her detailed description of alleged sexual assault told on camera for the first time” and how “advocates of Depp mercilessly attacked her via social media,” as noted in a press release.A synopsis reads: “The series gives a forensic account of the key evidence and turning points of the case from both sides, allowing viewers to make up their own minds about who to believe.”Depp sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post, where she wrote about being a survivor of domestic violence. While his name isn’t mentioned in the piece, Depp’s lawyers argued it falsely implies she was sexually and physically abused by him in their marriage.

R Kelly is facing claims his ex-manager told one of his ex-girlfriends she should have been murdered over an alleged child pornography sex tape she says she took from the singer. Lisa Van Allen, who had a relationship with the disgraced R and B sensation, 55, in 1998, is the latest witness to testify in his child pornography federal trial. She told the jury in Chicago she had sex with both the singer and his underage goddaughter as they were videotaped by Kelly, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly.

Van Allen says that she first met Jane in 1998, and that she had three sexual encounters with her and Kelly over the next three years.Jane would have been around fourteen in 1998, although Van Allen claims Kelly lied at the time and said that the younger girl was sixteen.

Manori Ravindran International Editor Soumya Sriraman, the former BritBox CEO who joined Amazon to lead its Prime Video Channels business in the U.S., is stepping down after two years at the SVOD. Sources indicate the executive is still at Amazon but will be leaving imminently for another role elsewhere. Sriraman is best known for her work pioneering the best-of-British streaming service BritBox in the U.S., where she is based. The SVOD launched there in 2017 and quickly reached 250,000 subscribers in one year. By the time Sriraman departed, in October 2020, the service had more than 1.5 million subscribers. The successful U.S. launch allowed joint operators BBC Studios and ITV to expand the brand to other markets, including Australia and Canada.

The woman who appeared, aged fourteen, in the video that was at the centre of the 2008 R Kelly sexual abuse trial took to the witness stand in the musician’s latest court case yesterday. She told the courtroom that she had decided to testify this time – having stayed silent during the 2000s criminal investigation and legal proceedings – because she had become “exhausted” living with Kelly’s lies.Kelly is back in court, this time in Chicago, to face further charges in relation to the allegations of sexual abuse that have been made against him for decades.

Kelly‘s child pornography trial in the 2000s, telling a courtroom she was repeatedly sexually abused by the singer while she was a minor.As the Chicago Tribune reports, the woman appeared in a Chicago federal court on Thursday (August 18) to give testimony in the disgraced R&B singer’s current trial, in which he is charged with 13 counts of production of child pornography, conspiracy to produce child pornography and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

An unidentified woman testified in court Thursday that R&B singer R. Kelly had sexually abused her “hundreds” of times before she turned 18, and confirmed that she’s the underage girl in the video that was at the centre of his 2008 child pornography trial (he was ultimately acquitted, with jurors claiming their decision was due to the fact that woman did not testify at that earlier trial).
