Queen to miss Commonwealth Day service as Prince Charles steps in

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall have been showing off their dance moves over in Ireland, where they recently embarked on a four-day royal tour. Prince Charles, 73, and Camilla, 74, haven't been short of activities during their time in Ireland, having spent time at Superstars Café charity in Cookstown and visited County Tyrone in Northern Ireland. On the final day of their trip, which is part of the celebrations to mark Queen Elizabeth's historic Platinum Jubilee, the royal couple took to the dance floor to show off their moves.

Prince Charles, 73, and Camilla, 74, are currently on a tour of Ireland with a packed schedule. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall haven't been short of activities from visiting County Tyrone in Northern Ireland to spending time at Superstars Café charity in Cookstown. Much like Kate and William's Caribbean tour, Charles and Camilla's Ireland visit is part of the celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, were there, along with William’s father, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. However, notable family members like Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Queen Elizabeth II were absent. Though Queen Elizabeth, 95, recently battled COVID-19, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday (Mar. 11) that she would not attend the service due to mobility issues, per The Mirror.

Royal retreat? Prince Harry will not return to the U.K. for an upcoming event in honor of his late grandfather Prince Philip. The news came as Queen Elizabeth II decided to skip the approaching Commonwealth Day Service following her COVID-19 battle.

Camilla, 74, has long been patron of multiple women's charities, including the Women of the World Foundation (WOW), and hosted many guests, including Mel B, on Tuesday 8 March to mark the important day.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall's primary London residence is Clarence House, with the couple moving into the historic home together back in 2003. The property has been home to numerous members of the royal family, including Prince William and Prince Harry, and most notably, Queen Elizabeth. Her Majesty, 95, lived at Clarence House with her late husband Prince Philip after the pair tied the knot in 1947, and they stayed there up until 1952 – when Elizabeth became Queen.
