The Queen loves Kate Middleton now but once had "grave concerns" - and wasn't afraid to let it be known, a royal expert says. Since she became a working royal 11 years ago, the Duchess of Cambridge has been praised for her professional but warm approach to the job. But before she married Prince William, Her Majesty had reservations.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl claims the Queen always liked Kate, but was worried she didn't have an identity of her own before she married into the Royal Family. In her book, The Making of a Royal Romance, Katie writes: "Privately she had grave concerns and believed Kate needed to have a job and an identity in her own right before an engagement was announced."
