It wasn’t just world leaders and family members who paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth during her funeral on Monday (September 19).

Queen Elizabeth II's coffin has begun it's final journey to Windsor Castle. The coffin had been Lying-in-State in at Westminster Hall since last Thursday, but was taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey on Monday morning, where Her Majesty's state funeral service took place.Following the funeral, the coffin traveled in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, and then to Windsor. Once there, the coffin was placed inside the State Hearse.

Claire Foy and Matt Smith are paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. In the days since her death on Sept. 8, both of the actors, who starred on Netflix's as Queen Elizabeth and her late husband, Prince Philip, respectively, have spoken out about the late monarch in interviews. «I think that she was an incredible monarch,» Foy told  BBCat the Toronto Film Festival.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. Queen Elizabeth II amassed quite a fortune during her life. In an interview with ET, royal expert Katie Nicholl discussed the finances of the royal family and shared why the estimations of their wealth are «pretty conservative» at best.«The royal family's wealth is estimated to be collectively about $442 million, which sounds pretty conservative, I think, when you think of the royal family, and their wealth, and their gems, and their art collection, and their palaces,» Nicholl explained.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Sept. 8 at the age of 96, and the royal family has now announced that the funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 19 at 6 a.m.

On September 8, Buckingham Palace announced the news that The Queen had passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.The news was announced in a statement that read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow." The royal family is set to have many changes in the days following Her Majesty’s death at the age of 96, including dividing her net worth and the homes she amassed over her long life and 70 year reign. According to Forbes magazine, the monarchy as a whole is worth £76.5 billion with the Queen worth a fraction of that figure. On her own, Her Majesty is thought to be worth a still pretty impressive £389 million, according to the New York Post.

Probably one of the highlights of my time in public service was when I was secretary of state, staying in Buckingham Palace and talking with her about her gardens, which were a great love of hers, and actually walking around the gardens with her gardener and going to a white-tie dinner in the grand dining room. I had many really pleasant and wonderful conversations. She loved to ask questions, she was so lively and she’ll be missed.”

Yossman Neither the rain nor the darkness descending across the U.K. did anything to dissuade the hundreds, possibly thousands, of mourners from making a beeline for Buckingham Palace on Thursday evening. Within hours of Queen Elizabeth II’s death being publicly announced, the streets around the palace were cordoned off to cars (except London’s iconic black cabs, many of whom parked up nearby to pay tribute) and flooded with people of all ages and backgrounds. Although the Queen died at Balmoral, her home in the Scottish Highlands, Buckingham Palace, as the world-renowned symbol of the British monarchy, immediately and understandably became a focal point for both her subjects and the press.
