In the days since the Queen’s sad death last week, King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort have spent much of their time completing royal engagements in the public eye. However, having visited the four home nations and having guided the royals through their united display of grief, the couple have now returned to their homes for some private time away from the spotlight.
While King Charles, 73, has headed to Highgrove House in Gloucestershire for a “private day of reflection”, Camilla, 75, has travelled to her own home of Ray Mill House where she has lived for well over 20 years. Following her split from her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles, Camilla purchased the lavish Wiltshire property and lived at the home between 1996 and 2003.
Since then, Camilla largely spends much of her time at Clarence House alongside King Charles, though has kept the stunning home as a countryside home away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Like Charles’ Highgrove home, the Queen Consort’s jaw dropping £850,000 property features an enviable outdoor offering.

With all of this on offer, it’s no surprise that the space provided the backdrop for her Country Life magazine cover earlier this year which was taken by daughter-in-law Kate Middleton.
