King Charles III has paid a moving tribute to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in a new official photograph released by Buckingham Palace.The new King, 73, was pictured with his red box for the first time as he carried out his official duties dealing with papers from government ministers in the UK and the realms, as well as Commonwealth representatives. Charles can be seen looking at the red box containing the papers as he donned a blue pinstripe suit, but in the background a subtle nod to his late mother can be seen.

Meghan Markle was allegedly "unresponsive" to Queen Consort Camilla’s advice when she first joined "The Firm." The claim was made by royal author Angela Levin, who has written a new biography on the wife of King Charles III, out on September 29th, titled "Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort." The author spoke to many of Camilla’s pals, staff and former colleagues, as well as other palace insiders to tell the story of how she became one of the key members of the British royal family. Levin first meet the now-Queen Consort in 2015.

The queen's will be the first state funeral in the United Kingdom since the death of Winston Churchill in 1965. Heads of state and foreign royals will begin the day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and travel together to Westminster Abbey, where the funeral is set to take place.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. The Queen Consort has been nursing a broken toe for over a week and battling through the pain to continue to support her husband on his duties, according to reports. The injury is thought to have occurred before the death of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday September 8. With Charles now King of England, the former Duchess of Cornwall, 75, has found herself thrown into even more royal duties than before since Elizabeth II's death.

He's also been allowed to keep a prominent role within the Royal Family since his brother, 73, ascended to the throne last week.
