Drivers could face 'delays and disruption' as major improvement works take place on one of Manchester's busiest roads. Road resurfacing work will take place on part of Princess Parkway next week.
A full repair is due to take place on the stretch between junction five of the M60 and the junction with Barlow Moor Road, Manchester council has announced. Work will take place from next Monday, February 19, and run until Saturday, February 24.
The work will start at 9pm each night, and end at 5am the following morning. Coun Tracey Rawlins, executive member for environment and transport at Manchester council, said: "I’m pleased that working with our partners in National Highways we have been able to carry out this improvement work sooner than we had expected.

"As a council we remain committed to improving our highways network and we are confident this latest scheme of work will have a positive impact for motorists. We know this will cause some delays and disruption, but we are grateful for the public’s understanding during the course of works.”
The council says the decision to fully repair the road follows an assessment of its surface conditions, while the work will take place at night to 'ensure the safety of motorists and repair crews'. Motorists are advised to plan their journey in advance and check the Transport for Greater Manchester website for updates.
