Princess Anne shares moving tribute on 'honour and privilege' to accompany Queen's coffin

King Charles III has paid a moving tribute to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in a new official photograph released by Buckingham Palace.The new King, 73, was pictured with his red box for the first time as he carried out his official duties dealing with papers from government ministers in the UK and the realms, as well as Commonwealth representatives. Charles can be seen looking at the red box containing the papers as he donned a blue pinstripe suit, but in the background a subtle nod to his late mother can be seen.

A majestic match. Princess Anne — the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — married Sir Timothy Laurence in December 1992.

Bonding together. Princess Anne and first husband Captain Mark Phillips’ children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, paid their respects to their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at her state funeral on Monday, September 19.

Representing the royal family. Princess Anne greeted mourners in Glasgow, Scotland, days before Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral.

As Prince William and Princess Kate continue to mourn the late Queen Elizabeth II ahead of her state funeral, the couple emotionally made a public appearance at Sandringham Estate.

The Princess Royal is visiting Scotland today, accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence. She is touring the Glasgow City Chambers, one of the city's most celebrated works of architecture, and meet with representatives of organisations of which the late Queen was a patron. Anne was accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence, was pictured chatting to crowds outside before reading messages left on bouquets.  This comes after Anne, 72, has taken a front-and-centre position during the preparations for her mother's funeral, appearing alongside her brothers and nephews during the coffin's procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall yesterday.

Princess Anne is paying tribute to her dear mother, Queen Elizabeth, who peacefully passed away on Sept. 8.

Queen Elizabeth II. In a statement released Tuesday, the royal opened up about her final moments with the late 96-year-old monarch. «I was fortunate to share the last 24 hours of my dearest Mother’s life,» Princess Anne began.

The Queen has embarked on her final journey back home to London after a night in St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, where over 26,000 people came to pay their respects following her death on 8 September. A round of applause was heard by the crowds lining the walls of the cathedral as the coffin of the Queen was placed into a car before being driven out of the grounds and down the Royal Mile. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's coffin will be accompanied by her beloved daughter Princess Anne, 72, as they'll be driven 40 minutes to Edinburgh Airport.

Queen Elizabeth II's coffin travelled in a procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh on 12 September. Her Majesty's four children – King Charles III, 73, Princess Anne, 72, Prince Andrew, 62, and Prince Edward, 58 – all followed on foot behind her coffin in the procession. Princess Anne was the only female royal not in a vehicle, with Queen Consort Camilla and Sophie, Countess of Wessex both following behind in a car.

Journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan has praised Princess Anne for her selflessness following the death of her mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. The former Britain’s Got Talent judge, 57, shared a tribute to the late monarch’s only daughter on Twitter, posting a photo of the Princess Royal in a car behind the hearse carrying her mother's coffin on Sunday afternoon. Praising her grace and decorum, the former Good Morning Britain presenter wrote: “Princess Anne is being driven in a car behind her mother’s hearse for six hours from Balmoral to Edinburgh, grief etched on her face.

Princess Anne, the only daughter o f The Queen, was selected especially by her mother to accompany her on the final emotional journey from Balmoral to Edinburgh alongside her funeral cortège. The Princess Royal, 72, made the six hour journey, which marks the first leg of the coffin’s journey back to London, on Sunday.
