Prince William was very "insistent" on one thing when it came to his father King Charles III's historical Coronation and his demand involved his mother-in-law Carole Middleton, according to a new royal book.
New claims made in Robert Hardman's new biography Charles III: The Inside Story state that William refused to budge on his demand over his wife Kate Middleton's family being included on the big day.
The Prince of Wales was reportedly so adamant that there was no option but to grant his request, the Mirror reports.
Hardman believes that this decision shows just how much things have really changed within the Royal Family since the beginning of the late Queen Elizabeth's reign, which lasted 70 years.
The author wrote that Prince William made a "direct request" that the Middleton family were to be in attendance and seated in a pretty high-profile position.
Hardman pointed out that this was in direct contrast to some of the old guard of the extended Royal Family, with the Queen Mother's family -the Bowes Lyons - having only two members there to represent them.
The journalist also noted in the book that Prince Philip's family, the Mountbattens, were only represented by Countess Mountbatten, with other relatives left off the guest list entirely during the Queen's Coronation in 1953.
Even Lady Pamela Hicks, one of the former members of the Royal Household under the late Queen, was snubbed.

Prince William, the heir apparent to the British throne, could potentially break away from the Church of England when he takes over the monarchy from his father, King Charles III. “In royal circles, it is no secret that he does not share the king’s sense of the spiritual, let alone the late queen’s unshakeable devotion to the Anglican church,” Hardman, 59, writes of William in “The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy.” In his book, which is set to hit stores Thursday, one senior staff member claims that the Prince of Wales, 41, is not quite as religious as some might think.
