The future was already mapped out for Prince William and Kate Middleton's kids when they were born. Their eldest son George once appeared to have a 'dream job' he will sadly never get to do.
With his dad first in line to the throne, and him second, his dedication to the monarchy outweighs any personal desires. Although it seems the father and son share a similar career interest.
The sweet reason behind the Prince of Wales' passion linked back to his late mum Princess Diana. Her biographer Andrew Morton backed the claim according to OK! Magazine when he wrote about a conversation Diana had with William and Harry.
He said: "William and Harry were aware of their destiny. On one occasion the boys were discussing their futures with Diana.
"When I grow up I want to be a policeman and look after you Mummy,' said William. Quick as a flash Harry replied, with a note of triumph in his voice, 'Oh no you can't, you've got to be king'," Andrew continued.
And it seems the vision of becoming a policeman runs in the family as Prince William previously revealed that his eldest son Prince George was also "obsessed" with the police.
Police Commissioner Jayne Richardson told William that more officers were required in the area during a reception at Kensington Palace in honour of Scotland Yard. She said: "We are recruiting, actually, so if George and Charlotte are keen?"

William then laughed and quipped: "[George] is obsessed, actually, by the police… cars, toys, everything." His son's interest in the police was revealed on his list to Santa when he was younger, with only one written wish, for a police car.
