Andrew has been forced to take a backseat from public life since his multi-million-pound payout to sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre.
The sexual assault allegations against him resurfaced following the death of his former friend Jeffrey Epstein in 2019. He was stripped of all his patronages and military titles and has been trying to get his royal roles reinstated.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Andrew has asked his mother to reinstate his HRH title as he is a “Prince of the Blood” but it was rejected by the Queen earlier this summer. "He feels that should be reinstated and his position recognised and respected,” an insider said.
Andrew now wants a new position to see out his days and is said to have spent three days with the Queen, The Sun on Sunday reports. His daughters and their families, brother Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and their two children, along with Prince Charles and Camilla have since joined the Queen and Andrew in Scotland.The Sun reports that a friend of Andrew's said: “He is a 62-year-old man and knows that he can’t spend the rest of his days sitting around at Royal Lodge in Windsor, walking his dogs and riding horses.
