Prince Andrew avoids court as he reaches financial settlement with Virginia Roberts

Prince Andrew has avoided court by financially settling with Virginia Roberts for an "undisclosed sum". Virginia, 38, filed a civil lawsuit against the Duke of York, 61, in August last year, alleging he had sexually assaulted her when she was trafficked to London by Jeffrey Epstein. She alleged that Andrew had assaulted her on three occasions when she was under the age of 18, which the Duke denied.
Andrew was stripped of his honorary and military titles after a US judge refused the Duke's lawyer's request to have the case thrown out. But, as the Duke of York prepared to go to court in the US to face the claims, it has now been revealed he has reached a financial settlement with Virginia. A document submitted to a US court announced the news.

“The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre’s receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed). “Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights.
“Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks." In the continued court documents, Prince Andrew also shared his "regrets" over his relationship with peadophile Jeffrey Epstein and praised the "bravery" of Virginia.
