Jeremy Helfand, who rose from a position at Hulu to supervise all advertising sales across Disney’s interactive businesses will take the reins as a vice president and head of sales efforts for Amazon’s Prime Video, the executive disclosed in a post on Linkedin on Thursday.

Amazon has confirmed that "limited advertisements" will begin to appear within its Prime Video streaming service from February 5 in the UK.

The company affirmed in an email to customers that it aims to “have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers” and will still offer “compelling value”.Amazon plans on expanding adverts to other territories, including France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Australia, later in 2024.Some of Amazon’s rival streamers, including Disney+ and Netflix, have also brought in adverts in recent months, particularly as they have struggled to hold onto customers amid growing inflation worldwide.In other streaming news, Warner Bros.

Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer are going to be in a new TV series together!

The two actors have signed on to star in an action-adventure series based on an original idea by exec producer Tessa Coates (“Feel Good,” “Ladhood”) for Amazon’s Prime Video. Skydance Television is behind the show, along with Andy and Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream shingle and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment (which has a first-look deal with Skydance; this is the first project to come out of that pact).

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (Truth Be Told) and Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) are set to star in and executive produce a new comedy series from creator Tessa Coates (Feel Good).
