Hundreds of cannabis plants were found at a drugs farm after rushing to reports that the building was being burgled.
Police discovered a cannabis farm of around 250 plants and arrested a man following a car chase in Blackley. Officers had been receiving reports of multiple burglaries occurring in recent weeks and started a week-long operation to crackdown on the criminals.
Another burglary was reported on September 7, but when police arrived at the scene - they were faced with a car chase before discovering a huge cannabis farm inside the house.

Throughout last week, covert police patrols monitored known hotspots for criminal activity amid recent report of burglaries in Blackley. During the week Blackley's police teams worked alternating shifts, said the force, covering days and nights and carrying out a number of anti-burglary measures including liaising with specialist officers, building intelligence, monitoring known offenders, and putting in future plans to tackle criminal behaviour.
The burglaries had led to people in the Manchester neighbourhood feeling 'unsafe in their own homes', said Greater Manchester Police. Police worked day and night to catch the burglars.
On Thursday night and into Friday morning (September 7 and 8), officers received reports that a house was being burgled in Middleton Road. As police arrived, a car was seen to make off from the area.
It was pursued and stopped by police. One man in his 20s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of offences including burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and driving dangerously.
