Plans to open an ‘authentic Neapolitan’ wood-fired pizza restaurant in a Bolton neighbourhood are set to be decided this week. Tesoro Pizza wish to open premises for both indoor and outdoor dining at Dale House, New Hall Lane, Heaton, at a small shopping parade.
The vacant corner premises were previously a training centre for beauty practitioner Lillian Maund. Tesoro is a family run business who currently operate from the nearby Finishers Arms in Smithills.
A report circulated prior to this Thurday’s planning committee meeting, which will debate the application, said: “The ground floor restaurant would have a floor area of 74sqm internally. It is proposed to be used as a wood-fired pizza restaurant operated by Tesoro, an established local family-run business.

“The restaurant would include a bar and food preparation area, including pizza oven, at ground level. A further food preparation area would be located at basement level.”
A cover letter from the applicant, said: “Tesoro has a strong emphasis on high-quality and authentic food. We source cheeses and meats from Italy and the pizza oven was made in Italy.
“We prepare ingredients by hand each day, including the dough, and the only processing to take place would be the wood firing of pizza bases.” The restaurant would have a capacity of 48 people dining internally and 24 people externally and the opening hours range would be from 10am-10pm, seven days a week, with the outdoor area limited to 7pm.

It is one of the programs run by the festival’s industry section, Venice Production Bridge.
