Romero have announced the release of their debut album ‘Turn It On!’, releasing its title track as its fourth single.Out today (February 16), ‘Turn It On!’ marks the first track released from Romero this year. On the single’s influence, vocalist Alanna Oliver explained that the song’s inspiration stemmed from watching a documentary on Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry.“One of the quotes was ‘she just gets on stage and she turns it on’,” she said.“As soon as I heard this, I paused it and started writing. The lyrics flowed effortlessly.

Modest Mouse have announced a new North American tour with The Cribs, due to take place this spring.The two bands have long had a link, with the Wakefield trio recruiting the Portland band’s Joe Plummer to add some percussion to some tracks in 2007. Later, in 2008, Johnny Marr completed his touring duties with Modest Mouse and left the line-up to join The Cribs, with whom he played for three years.Now the groups are hitting the road together for a number of gigs across North America, which will begin in Baltimore in April.

Foo Fighters have expanded their upcoming North American tour with 10 new shows, set to take place this September and October.The tour, in support of the band’s 2021 album ‘Medicine at Midnight’, will now include additional stops primarily through Canada – including cities such as Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Rick Rubin has announced his debut book, The Creative Act: A Way Of Being.The acclaimed music producer and Def Jam Records co-founder will publish the title in early 2023, The Guardian reports.The Creative Act… is said to be a non-fiction title focusing on the process of creativity. “I set out to write a book about what to do to make a great work of art,” Rubin explained in a statement.

Flume will return to North America for his first tour dates in nearly three years this April, in support of his forthcoming album ‘Palaces’.Flume had previously been announced as part of the 2022 Coachella line-up in April, as well as Bonnaroo and New York City’s Governors Ball this June. Headlining shows for the producer have now been announced that are largely based around these festival dates.

Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett has announced details of his debut solo EP, ‘Portals’.The guitarist will release the four-song instrumental EP on April 23 via Blackened Recordings across digital platforms, CD and as a Record Store Day Exclusive Ocean Blue Vinyl EP.‘Portals’ was produced by Hammett and includes songs that were co-written with California conductor Edwin Outwater, who also contributed keyboards and led the orchestral players from the LA Philharmonic on ‘Portals’. Ringo Starr is set to return to the road with his All-Starr Band in mid-2022, touring North America for the first time in nearly three years.Joining Starr on the road will be long-serving guitarist Steve Lukather of Toto, saxophonist Warren Ham, bassist Hamish Stuart and drummer Gregg Bissonette.Men At Work‘s Colin Hay is also set to participate in the tour, providing guitar and vocals, as is a returning Edgar Winter. SCALPING have announced details of their debut album ‘Void’, as well as sharing a futuristic video for lead single ‘Flashforward’.The Bristol band, who were included in the NME 100 in 2021, are set to release the album on April 29 via Houndstooth.“We wrote this whole album without playing a single note of it together,” the band’s Alex Hill explained. “We produced all of the songs using the computer – as a blend of recordings and samples of our live drums, guitars and drum machines into production software – and then translated it all back into a live performance.“Although there are structured songs on the record, there’s no explicit focus on exactly recreating those songs live either. Everything is adapted to work into a set that flows well.

The poster also reveals that NMIXX’s debut single would be titled ‘AD MARE’, along with a release date of February 22 at 6pm KST.Notably, NMIXX’s name was first unveiled just last week with an announcement teaser, after its hotly-anticipated line-up was finalised in November last year, comprising of Kyujin, Jiwoo, BAE, Jinni, Sullyoon, Haewon and Lily.NMIXX, previously referred to as JYPn, was first announced last July when the agency shared that it would be releasing a “blind package” for the group, which had featured their upcoming debut single on a limited-edition CD, a photo book, poster, premium membership card and more.The new all-female K-pop act will be the first girl group launched by JYP Entertainment since ITZY’s debut in 2019.

Slowthai has announced a slate of dates for a brief North American tour. The Antisocial Roadshow tour is a seven-show run that kicks off in New York City on April 8 and will make stops in Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco before concluding in Boston on April 30.
