Piers Morgan appears to have reignited his feud with fellow TV presenter Dan Walker in light of him leaving BBC Breakfast for a new position at Channel 5. In recent years, Piers, 56, and Dan, 45, have hosted two of the UK’s most popular breakfast news programmes, sparking the pair to have some competition with one another. With this in mind, they would often take to Twitter to “joust” with each other.
Things appeared to quieten down between the two of late, but Piers has reignited their feud by making a dig at Dan’s new job at Channel 5. Asked about their rivalry, Piers said to the Mirror: “Dan who? Hasn’t he disappeared to Channel 5 or something. He disappeared with his tail between his legs after we beat him in the ratings.
“It was actually quite priceless as we beat the BBC on my last day [on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain] so he couldn’t ever do anything about it.” “He could never beat us again,” he went on. “Anyway, best wishes to Dan. I hope he enjoys Channel 5.
Is that still on TV? Apparently, yes.” Dan’s thought to have signed a £1.5 million deal with Channel 5 ahead of his move from BBC, despite having once said that he isn’t “motivated by money”.
