Phillip Schofield made a virtual appearance on This Morning to update viewers on his health after testing positive for Covid-19. The 59-year-old presenter tested positive for the virus on Monday evening, so Alison Hammond has stepped in to host the hit ITV show with Rochelle Humes.
Appearing on the show, Phillip held his lateral flow test up to the camera with the two red lines and admitted while he felt “fine” he was “worried” about Dancing on Ice on Sunday. The former Saturdays singer asked: “How are you doing? Just a sore throat or feeling any worse?” Phillip replied: “I’m fine.

Alison, 46, joked: “Maybe it was just a little bit of dust?” Before he added: “I’ve got a slight temperature, but that’s about it.” The veteran presenter opted for a casual look as he perched in his garden and showed off his Gok Wan sweatshirt to the fashion icon in the studio that reads “isolation nation” as he now isolates for the next few days. Phillip admitted “this is not what he expected to be doing” and he is concerned about his other work commitments as he’s “cutting it fine” for appearing on Dancing on Ice at the weekend.
He continued: “Thankfully, we’re pretty careful in there, but there’s a number of things I’m disappointed about. Obviously I’m disappointed that I’m not there, we’re a little bit worried about Dancing on Ice as I’m cutting it a bit fine for Dancing on Ice on Sunday.” Phillip also said he was sad to miss out on Gok cooking dumplings and Dr Lily making tailor made medicine for each host, after he sent a picture
