LAURA INGRAHAM: Neither Biden nor Fetterman is capable of serving

Laura Ingraham questioned whether Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman or even the president himself are adept to be in office Friday on "The Ingraham Angle." If you're thinking, let's say, of putting an addition on your house, maybe renovating your kitchen, would you trust John Fetterman to review the bids and negotiate with the builders? And for that matter, would you trust Joe Biden to hire the best team to get the job done?  Pennsylvania Lt. Gov.

Green Day share newly unearthed ‘Nimrod’ demo, announce 25th anniversary edition

Green Day have come good on their teaser from earlier this week, revealing an expansive deluxe edition of their fifth album, ‘Nimrod’ – dubbed ‘Nimrod XXV’ – alongside a previously unreleased demo from its recording sessions. The drop comes exactly 25 years since the band released ‘Nimrod’ – the follow-up to 1995’s ‘Insomniac’ (for which Green Day also released a quarter-centennial edition) first hit shelves on October 14, 1997. It spawned four singles: ‘Hitchin’ A Ride’, ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’, ‘Redundant’ and ‘Nice Guys Finished Last’.The original album sported 18 tracks (tying it with 2009’s ‘21st Century Breakdown’ as Green Day’s longest), but a Japanese edition featured a bonus song called ‘Desensitized’, while an Australian version also featured the demos ‘Suffocate’, ‘Do Da Da’ and ‘You Lied’.

Philadelphia police union president calls out DA: Criminals know 'not a damn thing' will happen to them

A Philadelphia police union leader is pointing the finger at District Attorney Larry Krasner and city officials for soft-on-crime policies and failing to support law enforcement after three city SWAT officers were shot serving a homicide warrant.  "It's our liberal progressive, so-called D.A.," Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police president John McNesby said. "He does more work to let people out of jail than he does to keep them in." "[Criminals] know that they can wreak havoc and do whatever they want and there's not a damn thing that's going to happen to them." On "America Reports" Wednesday, McNesby said that on top of Krasner's policies, law enforcement has been stripped of the manpower and resources needed to defend the city.  Three SWAT officers were reportedly shot Wednesday morning while serving an arrest warrant in North Philadelphia, local media reported.

Sixers’ James Harden doesn’t think he gets enough credit for taking pay cut, turns attention to NBA title

James Harden has many individual accomplishments to his name in his 13-year NBA career, including an MVP and 10 All-Star Game selections.  He’s considered one of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen and was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.  James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers dribbles the ball against the Miami Heat during Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Eastern Conference semifinals at the Wells Fargo Center May 8, 2022, in Philadelphia. (Mitchell Leff/Getty Images) Even with all the accolades, Harden has never won an NBA championship.  It’s why Harden took a pay cut during the offseason to remain in Philadelphia, hoping the Sixers would be able to add pieces around him and star center Joel Embiid.  "Me averaging 20 points, averaging damn near a triple-double, us winning at a high rate, one or two seed, giving us a really good chance where we’re all playing really good basketball, or averaging 28 in the same kind of thing — it’s all the same," Harden told The Athletic in a recent interview.  "Ultimately, it’s winning a championship. The numbers don’t really mean anything, individually."  Harden chose to opt out of his $47.4 million player option, instead signing a two-year contract that will pay him $33 million during the 2022-2023 NBA season.  James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers dribbles during the first quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Wells Fargo Center Oct.

A statue of Christopher Columbus in Philadelphia remains hidden by a plywood box while its fate is decided in the courts, but the box has now been painted with the colors of the Italian flag. City officials told the news station KYW that they painted the box covering the 146-year-old statue in south Philadelphia's Marconi Plaza with green, white and red stripes at the request of Councilmember Mark Squilla, who represents the district. The new look came just in time for Columbus Day, the holiday now celebrated in Philadelphia and elsewhere as Indigenous Peoples Day.

‘1776’ Review: Bold Choices Enliven Broadway Revival of Revolutionary Musical

Frank Rizzo The opening moments of this exuberant, thought-provoking and radical revival of “1776” makes it clear who was missing from John Trumbull’s famous painting of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. As the female, transgender, non-binary and racially and ethnically diverse cast arrives on stage, exchanges street clothes for period waistcoats and literally steps into the black buckled shoes of this country’s forefathers, we know immediately that this will be a theatrical re-imagining not only of history, but the acclaimed Tony Award-winning 1969 musical. Co-directors Diane Paulus and Jeffrey L. Page apply a bold Brechtian brush to this picture with its casting, staging, musical arrangements and design. Without changing the narrative, it adds layers of context that offer further shadings to the musical, even though at times the results are somewhat crude, clunky or overdone.
