Sam Fender, Dave and Little Simz were among the winners at The Ivors 2022, which took place at London’s Grovesnor House tonight (May 19).The annual award ceremony celebrates songwriting and composing in both popular music and in film, TV and video game scores.Fender took him the trophy for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for ‘Seventeen Going Under’, the title track from his second album, which was released last year. The win marks his first Ivors victory.Dave was named Songwriter of the Year for his work on the Top 10 single ‘Titanium’ and his chart-topping second album ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’, as well as collaborations with Fredo.

Sam Fender has sold out his upcoming show at Finsbury Park, which will be the singer’s biggest gig to date.The London event, which is set for Friday (July 15) will feature performances from Fontaines D.C., Declan McKenna, Beabadoobee, Goat Girl, Nilüfer Yanya, Rachel Chinouriri, Stone, Heidi Curtis and Kay Greyson.The North Shields singer-songwriter will be following in the footsteps of the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Queens Of The Stone Age, Pulp and Liam Gallagher in headlining Finsbury Park.“Holy shit, this is absolutely fucking ridiculous!” Fender said.

Burna Boy has announced the release of his next album, ‘Love, Damini’.The ‘On The Low’ hitmaker became the first Nigerian artist to headline a concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night (April 28).During the show, Burna Boy revealed his new album will be called ‘Love, Damini’, which a press release later stated “is set to release for his 31st birthday,” which would be July 2.However, according to Pitchfork, representatives for the artist have said his sixth LP does not currently have a firm release date.‘Love, Damini’ will be the follow-up to Burna Boy’s 2020 album, the Grammy-winning ‘Twice As Tall’. Sam Fender has announced details of an intimate charity show that he’ll play in Newcastle next month.The ‘Seventeen Going Under’ artist will return to his native north east on May 24 for a special gig at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall, marking the first time that he will have played live at the 2600-capacity venue.The show will raise money for North East Homeless, who provide support to those who are vulnerable and homeless in the north east of England, as well as food and emergency equipment at street outreach sessions.Fender, who is a patron of the charity, dedicated his BRIT Award for Alternative/Rock Act to the organisation back in February.This is going to be next level.
