They certainly worked on hundreds of cases, each one more skin-crawling than the last (something that was teased in “Annabelle Comes Home,” which was kind of like the “Jumanji” of the “Conjuring” universe).Wan’s production company Atomic Monster will produce alongside Safran’s The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros.

The news was announced on Wednesday exclusively during Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of the Max streaming service on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles. According to Warner Bros., “The Conjuring” television series will continue the story established in the feature films. Producer Peter Safran is attached to executive produce the series via his Safran Company banner. James Wan, who also produced and directed several films within the franchise, is in talks to also executive produce. Wan’s Atomic Monster Productions is backing the project alongside Warner Bros. Television.

Universal Pictures, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse’s Night Swim is now opening on January 5, 2024 instead of January 19.

The beautifully creepy android doll from “M3GAN” is shimmying her way into your home. The unrated cut of the satirical sci-fi horror film will begin streaming exclusively on Peacock starting Feb. 24. Directed by Gerard Johnstone and produced by Jason Blum (“Get Out,” “BlacKkKlansman”) and James Wan (“Saw,” “Insidious,” “The Conjuring”), the film stars Alison Williams as Gemma, a brilliant toy company roboticist who creates a lifelike doll programmed with artificial intelligence to be a child’s greatest companion. But things take a tragic turn when Gemma becomes the unprepared caretaker of her newly orphaned niece and brings home the humanoid doll to keep her company.

Peacock has announced that it will begin streaming the sci-fi horror smash M3GAN from Blumhouse and Atomic Monster on February 24 — exactly three weeks ahead of its recently secured China release. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starts an all-new chapter in the Apes saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. The screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison. The original “Nun” movie — which followed Farmiga’s Sister Irene as she fought alongside Demian Bichir’s Father Burke to fend off the possession of the demon nun Valek in 1952 Romania — debuted in 2018 and earned $366 million worldwide on the way to becoming the top grossing in the franchise to date. The film was a spinoff of 2016’s “The Conjuring 2,” which starred Farmiga’s older sister Vera, who has fronted three “Conjuring” films, turning the horror franchise into a bit of a family affair.

The series would be a serialized drama that would explore Kong’s origins as well as the mysteries of his home, Skull Island. The series would be based on the original “King Kong” written by Merian C. Cooper as well as new novelizations by artist Joe DeVito produced in conjunction with Cooper’s estate. Stephany Folsom, who recently developed the Amazon series “Paper Girls” for television, will write and executive produce the King Kong show. James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett will also executive produce on behalf of Atomic Monster along with Dannie Festa for World Builder Entertainment. Disney Branded Television will produce.
