Person dies in Airdrie house fire tragedy

A person has died after being hit by a train between Bathgate and Blackridge this morning (Thursday).Scotrail confirmed the person had sadly died after being struck at around 6am.The line was closed but reopened a few hours after, however trains were not stopping at Armadale for some time as a result.Scotrail said: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Bathgate and Blackridge.“Services between Helensburgh and Edinburgh will now terminate at Airdrie with travellers being recommended

The body of a 59-year-old woman was found within a property on Friday, July 10 after the blaze destroyed the building's roof. Police confirmed the fatality shortly after the incident which saw the roof collapse along with significant damage to the homes of nearby residents.Four families in total were affected by the blaze and have all now moved to live with relatives due to the damage caused to their homes.
