The Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, announced today that the annual music awards show will indeed be happening as planned on August 30 in Brooklyn, NY.
“The Video Music Awards are going to be held Sunday, August 30, at Barclays Center,” he said during a press conference on Monday (June 29). In addition, he showed a slide on the screen behind him that noted, “the event will follow all safety guidance, including limited or no audience.”
