Twenty One Pilots have announced a new album ‘Clancy’ and shared its lead single, ‘Overcompensate’.The Columbus duo’s sixth LP – the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Scaled and Icy’ – will drop on May 17 via Fueled By Ramen.The band had been teasing their new era in recent weeks, with fans noticing that across Twenty One Pilots’ digital platforms, all of the artwork for their previous albums now featured strips of red tape covering all the eyes on each cover on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.Some fans also received cryptic messages in the post with the letters coming from the Sacred Municipality of Dema. As highlighted by Kerrang!, the clues build on the lore explored across 2018’s ‘Trench‘ and 2015’s ‘Blurryface’.Last week, the band released a trailer foreshadowing what’s to come, seemingly teasing a new character and location.“I am trapped, stuck in a cycle I have never been able to break,” narrates frontman Tyler Joseph at the trailer’s beginning.

Been Stellar have announced their debut LP ‘Scream From New York, NY’ and shared its lead single ‘Passing Judgement’.The NYC five-piece – comprised of frontman Sam Slocum, guitarists Skyler Knapp and Nando Dale, bassist Nico Brunstein and drummer Laila Wayans – shared the first track from their debut LP today (February 29).“Passing judgment without home/ Passing judgment without home/ Once I see how can I hear?/ If you hear, that’s how I know,” sings Slocum in the chorus over distorted, gritty guitars and a pounding drumbeat.Speaking of the track in a press release, the band shared: “We were finishing ‘Passing Judgment’ in the midst of our first tour in the UK. Playing through it a bit differently each show, we were learning to look at the song from different angles.”They continued: “The recording feels live because of this process — there’s a chaotic feeling in the drums and bass that wouldn’t be there if we hadn’t finished writing it live,” shares lead vocalist Sam Slocum, “Lyrically I was thinking about why we judge the world around us, and how passing judgment on someone or something is usually rooted in being unsure in oneself.”Directed by Gabriel Long, the track’s accompanying video features the band performing the song in a posh restaurant while a restaurant guest looks uninterested and disconnected from her conversation.Been Stellar have also announced their signing to independent label Dirty Hit (The 1975, Beabadoobee, Bleachers) and have shared ‘Scream From New York, NY’, their first full length offering from their new label home.

Thania Garcia Olivia Rodrigo and Noah Kahan are set to release a special edition split single featuring Rodrigo’s cover of Kahan’s “Stick Season,” and Kahan’s cover of Rodrigo’s “Lacy.” Both covers were recorded during the artists’ respective appearances on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge late last year. The album, titled “Can We Please Have Fun,” was produced by Harry Styles/ Florence and the Machine collaborator Kid Harpoon (who, with partner Tyler Johnson, was Variety’s Hitmakers 2022 Producer of the Year), is due on May 10 and is preceded by the lead single “Mustang,” available now.
