Outlander star Richard Rankin has celebrated a show milestone as this week marks eight years since he was cast as Roger MacKenzie.
Richard, 40, plays Roger on the show alongside his on-screen wife Sophie Skelton, 29, who plays Brianna while Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe star as his in-laws Jamie and Claire Fraser.
The official Outlander Instagram page shared a snap of Richard and wrote: "Eight years ago, @rikrankin officially joined the #Outlander cast and the rest (as Roger might say) is history!"
And fans also celebrated the milestone in the comments.
A fan wrote: "Happy Castiversary to my favorite Outlander actor!! Thanks for being the perfect Roger Mac!"
One penned: "Love him sooo much! The perfect Roger!"
While one said: "He is an amazing actor and singer."
Another wrote: "Richard was the best choice for the character, he’s the perfect Roger."
While one commented: "What !? Eight years ago already ? I feel like it was yesterday. Happy castversary @rikrankin!"
And one wrote: "I really love @rikrankin. He does an amazing job at playing Roger. I'm so glad that he was added to the cast and I think the casting department did a wonderful job picking him for the part."
Before he landed the role as Roger, Richard also has various accolades under his belt.
In 2011, he won Best Actor at the Glasgow 48 Hour Film Project for the Dead Ringer, a short film filmed within a forty-eight-hour period.
He then went on to secure a Satellite Award for Best Ensemble (Television) in 2017 for his performance in Outlander.
The star was also nominated for a Saturn and a WhatsOnSte award in 2021 for Outlander and his role in The Tragedy of Macbeth.
Richard, also known as Rik, was born in Glasgow in 1983 and grew up in the west end of the city.
