Outlander fans are patiently waiting for the second half of season seven, which will premiere at some point in 2024.
The mid-season finale saw Jamie Fraser, Young Ian and Claire Fraser finally heading home to Scotland.
Now, speaking on the official Outlander podcast, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts gave fans a gentle warning.
He admitted that fans should prepare for choppy seas ahead. “The one thing that was mandatory when we were breaking the first half is we have to end on an upbeat,” he said.
“We all know what happens to these two people. They are good people and bad things happen to good people.”
Initially, Outlander was set to end with season 7, however, bosses admitted that when they learned there was an eighth season in the making, they were forced to 'rethink everything', Roberts claims.
According to producers, they have a 'good plan' going forward which will involve the ending of Jamie and Claire's love story 'on a high' - leaving many fans curious as to how it'll end.
Luckily, Roberts confirmed they will be 'fair' to the diehard fanbase adding: "We don’t want to wedge an ending in there.
“[That would] not be fair to anybody."
Until then, the second half of Outlander season 7 is due out sometime next year.
Outlander is available to stream on Starz in the US and Lionsgate+ in the UK.
