EXCLUSIVE: Following the huge success of Michael Showalter‘s Prime Video rom-com The Idea of You, Showalter and Jordana Mollick‘s Semi-Formal Productions has entered into a multi-year first-look film deal with Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline can exclusively reveal.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent France’s Les Films du Losange is taking international sales outside Italy on “Sicilian Letters” (“Iddu”), the hotly anticipated drama about Cosa Nostra boss Matteo Messina Denaro – who was dubbed “the last godfather” – directed by Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza (“Sicilian Ghost Story”). “Sicilian Letters” pairs two top Italian actors — Elio Germano, who plays Messina (see first-look image above) and Toni Servillo (first-look image below) as his antagonist Catello, a shady secret services operative — working in tandem for the first time.

K.J. Yossman Fremantle has inked a first-look deal with Nevermind Pictures, the production company set up by Kristen Stewart, Dylan Meyer and Maggie McLean, which will see the super indie become the primary home for all of Nevermind’s projects in film and TV. The new deal, which spans a multi-year period, will see Nevermind working closely with Fremantle’s global drama division and international distribution team, FMI, for TV titles.

Ethan Shanfeld Alfonso Cuarón is returning to the small screen with “Disclaimer,” a psychological thriller starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. Apple TV+ released a first look image of the seven-episode series and announced an Oct. 11 premiere date.

Carolyn Giardina Disney Animation‘s showcase of new clips from upcoming “Moana 2,” screened Friday at the Annecy Animation Festival, included the return of the coconut-like Kakamora tribe’ Moana’s parents, Chief Tut and Sina; and of course Dwayne Johnson’s Maui. EXCLUSIVE: On the heels of the season two finale of Apple’s critically acclaimed comedy series Loot, starring Maya Rudolph (who also exec produces), Apple TV+ has signed a multi-year, first-look deal with Banana Split Projects, the newly formed production company run by Maya Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens.  Under the deal, Apple TV+ will have a first-look on series and digital features developed and produced by Banana Split.

Jordan Moreau After releasing his two-part “Rebel Moon” sci-fi epic on Netflix, Zack Snyder‘s director’s cut is nearly here — and it will have two new titles. The “sexier, bloodier” versions of his Netflix saga will drop on August 2, with two newly titled chapters instead of two parts.

You have to imagine Netflix is a bit let down by the release of the two “Rebel Moon” films earlier this year. While they definitely had decent viewership, the reviews for the films are terrible.

Currently in production, “Death Does Not Exist” is directed by Félix Dufour-Laperrière who previously helmed “Archipel” which won the Annecy Contrechamps Jury Award in 2021, and ‘Ville Neuve’ which had its premiere at Venice Days 2018.

J. Kim Murphy It was all just a game at first to Pat Sajak, but then it became something much more meaningful. The longtime “Wheel of Fortune” host’s final episode heading the game show airs in just a few hours — and the production has released a first look preview ahead of the broadcast, in which Sajak expresses gratitude to his audience.
