The legendary German food and drink festival Oktoberfest - a vibrant celebration of all things beer, bratwurst and Bavarian - returns to Manchester this October.
Dig out your lederhosen and grab a stein of specially-brewed German beer when the festival takes place at Platt Fields Park from October 13 to 16.
The festival, which began in Munich more than 200 years ago, sees around six million people now take part annually. It means you can enjoy the authenticity of the German folk festival without even having to leave Manchester.
Alongside the 23,000 litres of beer brought over from Bavaria and served in classic steins, there will also be cider, wine and soft drinks available.
It is not all about beer and bratwurst though, as, alongside the authentic Bavarian food and drink, there will also be music to create a real party atmosphere.
Oktoberfest organiser, Carsten Raun, said: "It will be the same fun event. After Covid, we want to get the focus back on being together with friends, having a good time, and getting out.
"This event will be the best combination of British and German interest in beer. Get your tickets booked now.”
A German band will perform everything from traditional Oompah music to great German Schlager, followed by a live DJ - you can be sure of an incredible atmosphere with plenty of songs to sing along to and possibly some dancing on benches as well.
Under the cover of the giant Oktoberfest beer tent that can cater to 2,000 people, you will find waiting staff will be decked head to toe in traditional Bavarian wear, such as lederhosen and dirndl. Dressing up is highly encouraged for everyone, so don't be afraid to go all out.
