However, hosts Ant and Dec were unable to accept the award due to them both contracting Covid-19 and missing the NTAs. Danny, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2021, accepted the award instead but during his speech he appeared to take a swipe at Stephen, who is a close pal of Ant and Dec.
Danny said: "Just on behalf of Ant and Dec, who unfortunately have Covid so they can't be here tonight. Stephen Mulhern is in the crowd so I'm not sure why he hasn't accepted this award on behalf of them..." The camera cut to a very baffled-looking Stephen, who pulled a confused face, and viewers at home were equally as baffled by Danny's comment.
