Liam Gallagher and John Squire have announced long-awaited details of their collaborative project – with first single ‘Just Another Rainbow’ set to arrive next month.The former Oasis frontman turned solo star and ex-Stone Roses guitarist turned artist have been teasing music together for quite some time. Back in June, Gallagher brought out Squires during his Knebworth shows to perform the 1995 Oasis classic ‘Champagne Supernova’ before Tweeting: “Super group incoming LG JS.”Gallagher would also confirm that the pair were “definitely” going to work together, before teasing that the pair’s joint LP will be “the best record since ‘Revolver’”, in reference to The Beatles‘ seventh album.Now, having launched a website a series of videos from one another this week, Gallagher and Squire have announced that their first single ‘Just Another Rainbow’ will be released on January 5, 2024, with “more new music to follow as the year unfolds”.

Kula Shaker have announced a new album ‘Natural Magick’, which reunites their original line-up for the first time in 25 years.The follow-up to 2022’s ‘1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love And Free Hugs’ will be released on January 26 on Strange Folk Records via Absolute. It marks the return of keyboardist Jay Darlington, who for the previous decade has worked with both Liam and Noel Gallagher, meaning their original line-up is back together for the first time since 1998.The album features the previously released single ‘Indian Record Player’, as well as ‘Waves’ which was released earlier this summer.“This chapter in the band’s life is very much driven by live energy and that spiritual connection with the audiences which comes with it,” explained vocalist and guitarist Crispian Mills.

Sleater-Kinney‘s Carrie Brownstein has opened up about how losing her mother influenced their new album ‘Little Rope’.The US rock duo – comprising Brownstein and Corin Tucker – shared details of their 11th album and a tour in support of it back in October, announced alongside lead single ‘Hell’.The track was released against the backdrop of a family tragedy, after Brownstein’s mother and stepfather were been killed in a car crash while on holiday in Italy last year.According to press notes, while the album was already in progress, some musical aspects of songs were approached with the artist’s fresh grief at the fore.Brownstein has now opened up about the personal impact of the sudden loss. “I don’t think there was ever a question that we would stop recording, she told The Guardian.

Kanye West showcased a host of new songs from his forthcoming album last night (December 12) and one of them featured a Backstreet Boys song.The track ‘Everybody’ features a recreated chorus from Charlie Wilson, who joins West, Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Baby on the track, instead of mining a sample from the boy band’s famous 1997 hit ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’. Kanye West appears to have announced that his new collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign will be released on Friday (December 15).West, who legally changed his name to Ye last year, made an appearance in a club over the weekend, where, as reported by The Independent, he was overheard saying, “It’s called ‘Vultures’, and it’s coming out this Friday.”Last week, Ty confirmed the album’s tracklisting with a handwritten note posted on Instagram. Michael Jackson’s first ever studio session is set to be released as a limited-edition package.The recording was made 56 years ago, when Michael Jackson was aged just nine and entered the One-derful studios in Chicago for the very first time with his brothers.In the session – which took place on July 13, 1967 – The Jackson Five produced a song titled ‘Big Boy’, and it has been confirmed that this was the first time that the iconic singer’s voice was put on tape.Now, the song is getting shared in a digital format for the first time, and will be available as part of a limited-edition release. Available tomorrow (December 7), the packages are shared in collaboration with the song’s owner, Recordpool, and Swedish blockchain-based music and royalty marketplace anotherblock.It comes in two formats – the “open edition” and the more expensive “limited edition”.
