Nicole Kidman‘s gasp was the photo seen around the world after the incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 27) night.
The 54-year-old actress looked absolutely shocked at what seemed to be a reaction to Will slapping Chris over a comment he had made on stage about Jada Pinkett Smith.

It seems that Nicole‘s gasp didn’t actually happen after Will smacked Chris - but it did happen much earlier in the show.
According to Huffington Post and Entertainment Tonight, the photo of Nicole was a reaction to seeing someone else.
Footage of Nicole at the time of Will and Chris‘ altercation showed her wearing husband Keith Urban‘s jacket around her shoulders, which she is not in the photos.
However, that didn’t stop the internet from making Nicole‘s gasp a meme on social media.
“Whomever caught this shot, is quite skilled at where to be looking when shit hits the fan. We’ll be seeing this photo for years,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another added, “Nicole Kidman and #Oscars = a match made in meme heaven.”
