EXCLUSIVE: Nick Wechsler (Revenge) is set as a series regular in NBC‘s new drama series The Hunting Party, joining previously announced Melissa Roxburgh, Patrick Sabongui, Sara Garcia and Josh McKenzie. Additionally, Kyra Leroux (Riverdale) joins the series in a recurring role.
Created by JJ Bailey who wrote the pilot episode, The Hunting Party is a high-concept crime procedural about a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.
Wechsler will play Oliver Odell. Bex’s former partner in the FBI and the love of her life, Oliver Odell is a charming, brilliant and often reckless profiler whose career at the bureau, and whose relationship with Bex, ended in disgrace.
Leroux recurs as Samantha Henderson. Precocious, funny and winning, Samantha is Bex’s 18-year-old daughter (via adoption) and a survivor of great trauma. In her first year at college, Samantha and Bex are both struggling being away from each other.
The Hunting Party, which received a straight-to-series order, is executive produced by Bailey and Jake Coburn who are writing and co-showrunning together. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Wechsler, known for his work on ABC’s Revenge, has also appeared on The Boys, This Is Us, For All Mankind, Roswell, Chicago P.D., It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Shades of Blue, the Dynasty reboot and Malcom in the Middle. He’s repped by Innovative Artists and Gilbertson Entertainment.
Leroux is best known for her roles on Riverdale and Firefly Lane. Other TV credits include Psych, Once Upon a Time, Six and Schmidgadoon! On
