Masters of the Air was a labor of love for executive producers Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The Apple TV+ series marks the third and final installment of the trio’s war drama miniseries, after Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

While it might seem like a no-brainer that the team behind “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” — including Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and John Orloff — would hit it out of the park with a new World War II series, it wasn’t plain sailing, in large part thanks to COVID, which resulted in numerous delays.

Despite their arguably growing miscalculation of audience interest in “Spider-Man” spin-off films like the awful “Madame Web,” Sony Pictures still has two more Spidey-related movies coming in 2024 that they hope will earn them some box office dollars and better reviews. “Kraven The Hunter” is next on deck on August 30, but we’ll also get a third “Venom” film later this year.

Katcy Stephan The third installment of the “Venom” franchise finally has a title, “Venom: The Last Dance.” Sony has also moved up the film’s release date to Oct. 25, 2024, from the previously-announced Nov. 8 date.
