Every week here at Official Charts we compile our fancy list of single, album and home entertainment releases; bringing you the latest music you need to know about. Let's dive into this week's, shall we?
Cardi B shifts back into gear with her first solo single in over a year. Hot Sh*t features contributions from Kanye West (!) and Lil Durk, and is apparently a more "masculine" song compared to 2021's feather-light Up. Does this mean Cardi's fabled sophomore album is finally on the way? We hope so!
Mabel is gearing up for the release of her own second record, About Last Night, in the next few weeks and has shared its new single - Let Love Go, which features Lil Tecca. It's another camp, synth-pop delight that's a great barometer for just how bop (and how sonically cohesive) About Last Night is. Let them know!
It's a hot XCX summer, didn't you hear? Fresh off her UK Number 1 album Crash, Charli's proving that the life of a main pop girl never, ever stops. Hot In It, a link-up with Tiesto, is iconically short at just over 2 minutes, and it doesn't waste a single second.
RAYE also returns to the spotlight today, after tumultuous 2021 beset by delays, she's now a fully independent artist and the first taste of her apparently forthcoming and long-sought-after debut album comes produced by hitmaker to the starts, Justin Tranter (Britney, Selena, Justin Bieber). It's nice to have her back.
There's also a raft of new singles from Yungblud following his raucous Glastonbury set (I Don't Feel Like Feeling Sad Today), another delectable pop anthem from Rina Sawayama (Catch Me In The Air) and Sabrina Carpenter (Vicious) who has just announced the release of her forthcoming new album, Emails I Can't Send.
Albums-wise this week,
