Construction has begun on a new £6.6 million specialist care home in Tameside that is set to provide dozens of new jobs.
The new care home in Ashton-under-Lyne is due to be completed in early 2024, and it will support adults living with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia, and physical disabilities.
The company behind the £6.6m home on Holden Street, which is to be named Acer Mews, will create 100 new healthcare jobs in the area.
These include health care assistants, registered nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, according to the company behind it, Exemplar Health Care.
The home will be split into two 14-bed communities as the company says that small group living provides a more ‘homely, supportive, and responsive care environment’.
