Netflix Lands ‘The 39 Steps’ Limited Series; Benedict Cumberbatch, Director Edward Berger & Scribe Mark L. Smith Update A Classic

Starz has put in development The Case of Cyntoia Brown, a limited drama series inspired by the story of Cyntoia Brown-Long, who served 15 years of a life sentence for killing a man when she was 16 years old.

Elizabeth Olsen is currently revelling in the success of her Marvel series WandaVision. The show became an instant hit thanks to its clever storytelling and performances by Olsen and Paul Bettany.

Netflix has unfortunately announced which titles will be permanently removed from the streaming service beginning in May of 2021.

Yesterday saw the collision of two cultural institutions that peaked a long, long time ago: The Simpsons and Morrisey. The former Smiths frontman was parodied on last night's episode of the cartoon sitcom for an episode titled “Panic On The Streets Of Springfield.” In the episode, Morrissey is skewered by the character "Quilloughby," voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, who ages into a racist, bloated performer.

Morrissey has responded to the latest episode of The Simpsons which sent up The Smiths in a statement, saying “Writing for The Simpsons evidently requires only complete ignorance”.The episode, titled Panic On The Streets of Springfield, aired April 19.

Morrissey was apparently quite upset over the parody of him on The Simpsons over the weekend.

Morrissey issued a harsh rebuke of "The Simpsons" after the animated sitcom unflatteringly parodied him during its latest episode. Sunday's episode, titled "Panic On The Streets Of Springfield," sees 8-year-old Lisa Simpson become enamored by a British singer from the 1980s, voiced by guest star Benedict Cumberbatch with lyrics by "Flight of the Conchords" star Bret McKenzie.

Morrissey is no longer a big fan of “The Simpsons” following the series’ most recent episode.
