Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has named the defender he believes to be the best centre-back in the world.
The Serbian defender made a name for himself at Old Trafford, making over 200 Premier League appearances for United between 2005-2014. During that time he won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, a Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Since the respective departures of Vidic and Sir Alex Ferguson, success has stalled at Old Trafford. However, speaking to The Athletic, the 40-year-old made it clear that one player would significantly improve United, suggesting that his only weakness is that he's playing for the wrong club.

He explained: "Virgil van Dijk is one of the best — if not the best — centre-backs in the world. He’s good physically and in the air.
"He has great ability. He’s grown a lot as a player since I first saw him play for Celtic.
"It helps that he’s in a good team, too. His weakness is that he’s playing for the wrong club."
The 30-year-old has been a crucial part of Liverpool's success since joining from Southampton. While at Anfield, he has won the Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.
