David Moyes has reflected on his time as Manchester United manager while sending a message to the Old Trafford hierarchy over their next appointment. Moyes was selected to replace Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 but he only lasted 10 months at United.
Fast forward to the present day and Moyes has West Ham on the verge of qualifying for Europe this season, with his old club still floundering. That might yet be a Champions League place for the Hammers as they compete with Tottenham, Arsenal and United in that ongoing and exciting pursuit for a top-four finish.
Either way, the Scot continues to impress at the London Stadium and beyond. United, meanwhile, have identified Erik ten Hag as a preferred candidate to take over as manager at Old Trafford and current club Ajax expect him to leave at the end of this season.

Ten Hag has downplayed the situation as rumours while speaking to the media after guiding the Eredivisie side to another victory on Saturday afternoon. But his or another man's appointment comes with a sound message.
Reflecting on his tenure as United manager, Moyes said: "I had my chance. I didn't quite reach what I'd like to have done or get the results I'd like to have done — but I think that's been the same with a lot of the managers there and some of them were really top, top managers.
"We've moved quickly at West Ham to being close to that club, so if we can make it two years in a row in Europe, that would be an incredible achievement for us.
"You have to have a plan. You need four or five transfer windows to get it right. That's not just me. Most managers need that."
