Angelique Jackson Nathalie Emmanuel‘s first trip to the Cannes Film Festival was certainly a memorable one. The “Fast and Furious” franchise star and “Game of Thrones” alum knows what it’s like to be in the spotlight, but Cannes is unique. First, consider the fact that she’s the leading lady in legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola‘s longtime passion project “Megalopolis,” which made its world premiere at the festival.
Then, there’s the reality of ascending the famed red steps to the Palais des Festivals. “This whole experience has been like nothing I’ve ever had before,” Emmanuel told Variety the next day. “That moment was so much bigger and so much grander — I just had no concept of how crazy it would be, how exciting it would be, how many people there would be.
… It was quite overwhelming, but really exciting and felt like a real celebration.” “And obviously, wearing custom Chanel is new for me,” the British actor added, her red lips spreading into a proud grin as she referenced the long white gown, embroidered with paper silk floral motifs and crystals, then belted with a black satin bow. More than 500 hours of work went into making the dress. “I loved every second of it.
I felt so elegant.” Emmanuel is a friend of the French luxury fashion house, which considers the famed filmmaker to be family. The brand’s work was first featured in Coppola’s 1989 film “New York Stories,” and the collaborative relationship with him and his children Sofia and Roman Coppola has continued since. So, given that “Megalopolis” marked another major moment in his storied career, it only made sense that Chanel was there too.

Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Francis Ford Coppola hit the Cannes Film Festival last month to triumphantly celebrate the completion of his epic film “Megalopolis,” which he has been working on for nearly 40 years. The celebrations were somewhat compromised, however, by mixed reviews for the film itself, as well as a Guardian report that alleged “chaotic behavior” on the set of “Megalopolis,” including the “Godfather” director reportedly “pulling women to sit on his lap” and “trying to kiss some of the topless and scantily-clad female extras.” New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis interviewed Coppola in Cannes, and did not hesitate to raise the topic of the accusations.

Now and then we come across a designer lookalike that we just can't pass by, why spend a fortune on a designer piece when you can get the look for A LOT less? If you follow all things fashion then no doubt you've probably seen that the 'old trend', bouclé, has been having a bit of a fashion moment- a resurgence should we say since early spring. Arguably it was Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel who put it on the sartorial map over 60 years ago, but this fabrication hasn't lost its sense of style. The high street allowed us to fall in love with the boucle jacket all over again and it's certainly played an important role in our transitional wardrobes, but we've been quick to notice the designer-inspired trend has been updated for the summer season- and we're all over it.

Think: two-tone Chanel flats and wide-legged jeans, tweed Gucci jackets and basketball jerseys, pearl necklaces and lingerie, This seems to be the musician’s MO at the moment, grabbing just about every classic fashion piece at her disposal. For example, she was last night photographed in New York wearing a diaphanous slip and a leather jacket with a box-like Dior bag named after Diana, Princess of Wales.

Alex Ritman Nathalie Emmanuel knows all about not talking about the projects she’s in. Seven years on “Game of Thrones” as the fan-favorite Missandei gave the Brit an instant lesson on the dangers of spoiling a show where much of its popularity rested on an endless supply of (mostly bloody) shocks and surprises. But Emmanuel’s now unable to talk about something very different, and for very different reasons.
For years, the idea of “Megalopolis” has been enough to fuel speculation. How could this film possibly be so important that Francis Ford Coppola was willing to stake his career on it? Not only that, this passion project means so much to the director that he felt compelled to put up his own money to finance the $120 million epic.
