Nadia Sawalha takes swipe at NTAs saying 'every year it’s the same winners'

Last night's National Television Awards saw daytime talk show Loose Women lose out to This Morning in the Best Daytime Show category. Starting today's episode, the Loose Women discussed their loss, with Kaye Adams saying: "It's the morning after the night before" as the audience groan alongside the panellists.

The 2022 National Television Awards were definitely one to remember, with numerous memorable moments throughout the evening. The annual event took place on 14 October at OVO Arena Wembley in London, with a whole host of television hosts and personalities in attendance. Those who walked away with awards include Martin Lewis, Ant and Dec, Anton Du Beke and Cillian Murphy, with TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Gogglebox and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! also coming out on top.

Drama has already unfolded before the festivities have even begun at the National Television Awards, which are set to take place tonight, Thursday 13 October.The annual affair – typically dominated by This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, as well as I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec – will take place in London at Wembley’s OVO Arena, with TV fans able to tune into the event at 8pm on ITV. While the event hasn’t even started, there have already been a string of dramas, including the date of the highly-anticipated affair being moved and some stars having to pull out of attending due to contracting Covid. Date gets pushed back The decision was made to postpone the event following the passing of the late Her Majesty the Queen on 8 September.

Nadia Sawalha has pulled out of the National Television Awards today, following a string of celebrities who have bowed out of the ceremony due to sickness. The 57 year old has been tucked up in bed in after falling ill with a mystery virus, thought to be the latest strain of Covid-19 by the daytime presenter. Nadia was due to attend the NTAs, held at the O2 arena in London tonight, with her Loose Women co-stars as their ITV show has been nominated for the Best Daytime Award.

Loose Women viewers were left shocked when panellist Coleen Nolan confessed that she spends a fortune on smoking each year.The former singer, 57, appeared on today 12 October's episode where she, Kéllé Bryan, Jane Moore, and Christine Lampard discussed the topic of healthcare. As the panel began to talk about smoking, they pondered not only the physical but the financial issues than can be caused by this addiction.

Shirley Ballas has responded to the massive amount of criticism she has received recently over her comments on Strictly Come Dancing.The head judge was slammed this week after she made comments about female celebrities – particularly Olympian Ellie Simmonds.Then during movie week, Shirley was berated online after saying she would’ve saved Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice over the couple that was ultimately saved, Fleur East and Vito Coppola. It was embarrassment for Nadia Sawalha on the Loose Women panel today (October 6) as her phone went off live on air. During the show, as Carol McGiffin was talking, there was an audible ping and the camera cut to Nadia, 57, whose face had frozen in fear.
