Not only can it make us unwell if it's severe enough, but even the smallest amount of mould can really ruin the appearance of the bathroom, making it look dirty.
No matter how clean the room is kept, mould can spring up from anywhere - but thankfully, fans of Mrs Hinch have shared a cheap and effective way to get rid of it.
Posting to the Facebook group Cleaning tips and tricks, one exasperated man was having problems with mould around his bathroom tap and had tried out many ways to remove it.
He said: "Hi all.. spent forever battling on and around bathroom taps. Have tried cleaning wipes, sprays, strong mould and limescale removers… and ‘magic’ products… nothing seems to do the trick and it’s a major eyesore.
"I don’t want to bleach and just change the colour of it, so I’m guessing there’s a quick hack somewhere out there please."
He was right, as several cleaning fans were quick to share their favourite hack that only costs 2p to do.
The copper coin itself is apparently enough to scrub off any signs of mould - and commenters who had used the hack themselves were able to vouch that it had worked.
"2 pence piece really works. Rub gently over it , wipe with cloth and it’s gone," one said.
While another agreed, saying: "Wet a 2p coin and rub it around the base will all come off". A third chimed in: "Swear by 2p piece!"
Some other popular suggestions included the 2p method, but adding in lemon juice or white vinegar for really stubborn mould stains.
