Molly Shannon jumpstarted the April 8 episode of Saturday Night Live by breaking into song during the opening monologue.
The 58-year-old actress made a glorious return to the late-night show, where she was a cast member from 1995 to 2001. She’ll be joined by musical guests the Jonas Brothers for the night.
However, she belted out a showtune of her own while kicking off the show. She was joined by Molly Kearney, Kenan Thompson and even creator Lorne Michaels.

Opening the set, Molly reflected on her book Hello, Molly and the honesty she displayed within it.
“I mean, we all have problems, right,” she asked. “My dad always taught me to keep my chin up and never give up on my showbiz dreams. He would play me old classic musicals. And he would tell me, ‘You know Molly, no matter what problems you face, if you keep a positive attitude everything will turn out ok.”
“I can almost hear him now,” she announced before breaking into a song about overcoming whatever obstacles are in the way. Several other cast members joined her onstage, and Martin Short even made an appearance (and a reference to Ozempic).
What a way to get things going!
