‘Minecraft’ Animated Series Set At Netflix With New Characters

Lexi Carson “Pimp My Ride” is back … sort of. Actor and comedian Chris Redd is set to host Netflix‘s new motor makeover series “Resurrected Rides,” which will premiere on July 24.

EXCLUSIVE: From dark to light – Piv Bernth, one of the architects of the Nordic Noir genre, is working on Feelings & Things, a comedy-drama set in a shopping mall. Bernth and her Apple Tree Productions banner are reuniting with Ditte Hansen and Louise Mieritz on the project, which they hope to shoot next year.

Even though the end is on the horizon for Star Trek: Lower Decks, creator Mike McMahan says this experience has still felt like a miracle. When he came in with the idea for an animated Star Trek series, following the comedic adventures of lower-level officers, he was prepared to be shown the door. Instead, McMahan ended up creating an Emmy-nominated series for Paramount+ with a fifth, and final, season on the way.

Of all the films released by DC in 2023, it was clear that “Blue Beetle” is the one James Gunn thought could continue on in his rebooted DCU. That said, the film had a dismal box office run, which led to many assuming that the franchise was DOA.

Jack Dunn Netflix has unveiled the premiere date for the animated series “Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft,” based on the iconic action-adventure video game franchise. The show hits the streamer Oct. 10 with Hayley Atwell taking on the titular role of the intrepid British archaeologist.

Prime Video has handed a series order to Kevin, an animated comedy written and executive produced by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert.

Selome Hailu Netflix is developing an animated series based on the wildly popular sandbox video game “Minecraft.” The streamer will produce the project alongside Mojang Studios, the Swedish developer of the game. Plot details are not yet known, but according to Netflix, the series “will feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of ‘Minecraft’ in a new light.” The series, which will be CG-animated, is in development with WildBrain, the Canadian studio behind animated Netflix projects including “Sonic Prime,” “Ninjago: Dragons Rising” and “Carmen Sandiego.” In 2022, Netflix debuted a revival of WildBrain’s “Johnny Test,” which originally ran on the WB and later on Cartoon Network for six seasons from 2005 to 2014.

Netflix is bolstering its entertainment formats unit with a big new music competition series.

After ruminating on the idea for Blue Eye Samurai for quite a while, Amber Noizumi and Michael Green had difficulty finding the right medium – until they decided the story needed to be animated in whole new style. Enter Netflix, which had just recently started an adult animation division, and the eight-episode series was born.

Their North American tour will now begin in New York City on July 25 and end in Chicago on October 23.

Lexi Carson Bob Barker‘s decades of animal rights activism are being honored by the marine life-protection nonprofit Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which has named a new anti-poaching boat after the late “The Price Is Right” host. An ocean-based conservation organization that prepares ships in defense of marine wildlife, Sea Shepherd also aim to put captains and crews between poachers and the endangered marine wildlife they pursue for illegal profit.
